This animated explainer takes us into the world of Martynas Liudvikas Rėza and the Curonian Spit – its landscapes, people and fishing traditions. From the very beginning, we wanted to treat this explainer more like a short film. Instead of using traditional graphics and infographics, we created a hand-drawn world with characters, landscapes and historical moments at the heart of the story. The soft pastel colours come directly from the Curonian Spit – the blues and greens of the sea and lagoon, the sandy tones of the shores and dunes, and the natural colours of the coastal landscape. The result is an explainer that delivers information through narration, but also through its characters, environments and animation.
